My name is Lynn. I have a cozy mystery coming out in early 2017 and I couldn’t be more excited. The Girls’ Weekend Murder will be my first published novel. It’s in the initial stages of editing and now all I have to do is wait… and wait… but I’m exceptionally patient. This moment may call for a glass of wine… Or two… OK moving on…
I’ve always loved murder mysteries because I feel involved in the story. I’m actively trying to pick up clues along the way to solve the case before the end of the book. I’m sure that is the draw for many readers. It’s funny for me being on the other side, the author side, because it becomes almost a game. It reminds me of Easter, in a way. I have to hide the chocolate eggs so that my kids can find them. But if it’s too easy or obvious, they will be annoyed or, even worse, bored. If it’s too difficult the fun is lost and the kids feel cheated. It’s a tricky business.
As I’ve never blogged before and feel reluctant and somewhat odd writing thoughts instead of just thinking them, can I be let off easy? I will answer yes, you can. Short and sweet, right?
As I am not sure what protocol is for blog timeline, I will just sign off with a short farewell.
I have no doubt that now that my thoughts are aware they can be put on (virtual) paper, they will bother me to write again soon.
