My first cozy mystery, The Girls’ Weekend Murder, came out earlier this year. I am thrilled you have taken time to visit my site. I hope you enjoy perusing around. If you have time to read only one blog, I would suggest “In defence of the Cozy.” It kind of says it all. Second to that, I would recommend “Social Media Makes Me Want to Caterwaul.” To be perfectly frank however, the second one is mostly for the title…
I’ve always loved murder mysteries because I feel involved in the story. I’m actively trying to pick up clues along the way to solve the case before the end of the book. I’m sure that is the draw for many readers. It’s funny for me being on the other side, the author side, because it becomes almost a game. It reminds me of Easter, in a way. I have to hide the chocolate eggs so that my kids can find them. But if it’s too easy or obvious, they will be annoyed or, even worse, bored. If it’s too difficult the fun is lost and the kids feel cheated. It’s a tricky business.
As I’ve never blogged before and feel reluctant and somewhat odd writing thoughts instead of just thinking them, can I be let off easy? I will answer yes, you can. Short and sweet, right?
As I am not sure what protocol is for blog timeline, I will just sign off with a short farewell.
I have no doubt that now that my thoughts are aware they can be put on (virtual) paper, they will bother me to write again soon.
Thank you for your visit,
